In 1997, Dr. David Peterson realized his dream and opened Durham Valley Vets. The building at 8398 Easton Rd, Ottsville formerly housed a bicycle shop and Dr. Peterson worked in the evenings to frame and build rooms for exams, surgery, a cattery and a kennel area. Once the clinic was ready, he continued working at Fort Dodge Animal Health and saw appointments in the evenings until he acquired a large enough client base to open full time. Over time, the practice grew, equipment was added and upgraded and associates were hired. In January of 2023, after 26 years of ownership, Dr. Peterson sold the practice to Dr. Minjeong Gwon and Dr. Ryan Epple and retired that April. Although the practice gained new ownership, much of the staff remains the same. Drs. Gwon and Epple have been working with the original staff to add valuable upgrades to our services while continuing to offer affordable vet care to the surrounding community.
